Athanasios Diakos (Athanasios Diakos of Fokida or Artotina of Fokida, 1788 - Lamia, April 24, 1821) was one of the Greek protagonists - chiefs of the first year of the Greek Revolution of 1821, who acted in Central Greece. In April 1821, in collaboration with other chiefs, he captured the fortress of Livadia and, using it as a base, gave many victorious battles. He occupied the bridge of Alamana and on April 23, 1821 he fought with the troops of Omer Vryonis. In this battle he was arrested and after being transferred to Lamia he was killed by the Turks on April 24, 1821.
