Οι συγκεκριμένες φιγούρες παρουσιάζονται στον μπερντέ συνήθως για να μεταμορφώσουν ανθρώπους σε διάφορα ζώα μέσα από την επιδέξια κίνηση του καραγκιοζοπαίκτη. Χαρακτηριστικό τους είναι η μεγάλη φουστανέλα, ώστε να μπορεί να καλύπτει τον κάθε κορμό της φιγούρας.
Μια χαρακτηριστική παράσταση που χρησιμοποιούνται οι φιγούρες αυτές είναι "ΤΟ ΜΑΤΩΜΕΝΟ ΔΕΝΤΡΙ (Η ΜΕΤΑΜΟΡΦΩΣΗ) ΚΟΥΖΑΡΟΣ"
